Licence

Personal Use Licence.

What you can do with a LushClayCo file, what you cannot, and what happens if something goes wrong. Every file from the shop comes under it, free and paid alike.

Personal Use Licence · Version 1.0 · 22 October 2026

These are the terms you accept when you download a LushClayCo file. They cover every file from lushclayco.com and from my MakerWorld profile, free and paid alike. If you do not accept them, do not download the file.

1. What you are getting

A licence to use the file. Not the design.

The licence is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable. “You” means one person. It is not a studio, a team, a classroom, a makerspace or a shared account, and it does not pass to anyone else, including with the sale of a business or a printer.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

2. You can

  • Print it as many times as you like, for yourself.
  • Print replacements whenever one wears out or breaks.
  • Make whatever you want with it for yourself, for gifts and for learning.
  • Keep backup copies on your own devices.
  • Convert or rescale it for your own printer, as long as the converted file stays with you and is never passed on.
  • Show your work. Tag me and I will see it.

3. You cannot

  • Sell anything made with it. Not the cutter, and not the pieces you press, cut or stamp with it. Selling of any kind needs a commercial licence.
  • Sell the cutter, or any copy of it. Printing these cutters for other people, whether you charge for them or not, falls outside this licence.
  • Share the file. Not with a friend, not in a group, not in a shared folder. Send them to lushclayco.com instead.
  • Sell the file, or give it away as a freebie, a lead magnet or a bonus with something else.
  • Upload it anywhere. Not MakerWorld, not Printables, not Thingiverse, not a Patreon or a membership site. If you found it somewhere other than lushclayco.com or my own MakerWorld profile, it was not put there by me.
  • Use it to make a new file. No remixing, scaling into a set, merging into someone else’s design, or tracing it to redraw your own version.
  • Feed it to a machine. No using the file to train, fine tune, or build a dataset for any model or generative tool.
  • Use it for anything unlawful, or in a way that would put me in breach of someone else’s rights.

4. Selling needs an active commercial licence

If you want to sell what you make, you need a commercial licence from LushClayCo, and it has to be active at the time of the sale.

Active means exactly that. The permission to sell runs for as long as the licence runs. If you cancel it or let it lapse, the permission ends with it: you stop listing, stop selling and stop taking orders for anything made with these designs from that date. Pieces you already sold while the licence was active stay sold, and nothing is owed on them.

This licence covers LushClayCo designs only. It does not cover LushKesim. Cutters you draw yourself in the app are a different thing with their own terms, and selling what you make with those needs an Usta licence. The two do not substitute for each other.

5. The design stays with LushClayCo

Every design is drawn by hand and every right in it stays with me, including rights not mentioned here. Buying or downloading a file buys you the use set out above and nothing more.

What you make with it is your work, and you are responsible for it.

6. Sold as is

The file is supplied as it is, with no warranty of any kind.

Printers, slicers, nozzles and filaments all differ, and I cannot promise a given result on your machine. Every design is printed and cut in clay here before it is listed, but that is my printer and my settings, not yours.

I am not responsible for a failed print, wasted filament, machine time, a damaged printer, injury, or anything you go on to make with the file. Nothing here is a promise that a file is fit for any particular purpose.

7. Using the cutters safely

These are tools with a thin cutting edge. Keep them away from small children, and do not use them on food or with anything you intend to eat from. Printed plastic is not food safe and is not made to be.

8. Support and updates

If a file will not open, or you believe it is faulty, email me. I would always rather fix a file than leave someone with one that does not work.

Beyond that there is no support promised, and no obligation on me to supply revised or updated versions of a file you already have.

9. No refunds

A file cannot be returned. Once it has been downloaded the sale is final and no refund is due. That is what you are accepting when you accept these terms.

A faulty file is a different thing. Email me and I will fix it.

10. If these terms are broken

The licence ends immediately, with no notice needed. You stop using the file, delete your copies, and no refund is due.

If something you do under this licence causes a claim against me, you cover what it costs me, including legal fees.

11. Changes

These terms may change. Every version is numbered and dated at the top of this page, and the version you accepted is the one that applies to the files you already have. A material change means being asked to accept the new version, not a quiet update.

12. Your acceptance is recorded

When you accept these terms, the version, the date and time, your account and your IP address are recorded. That record is what each of us relies on if there is ever a question about what was agreed.

13. The rest of it

If I do not enforce part of this straight away, that does not mean I have given it up. If any part turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. I may transfer this agreement if the business ever changes hands; you may not. This page, in the version you accepted, is the whole agreement between us about these files.

14. Law

This licence is governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, in the United States.

15. Questions

Email me. I am one person and I would rather sort something out than have anyone guessing.
